What does a garden maintenance operative do?
Garden maintenance jobs require you to use your landscaping skills as well as use your knowledge of plant and lawn care to maintain gardens in both private and public areas. The types of duties involved in a gardening job can include:

What qualifications, skills and experience do I need to be a garden maintenance operative?
A qualification in horticulture or previous landscaping experience are often preferred for garden maintenance jobs. Some work is independent, but you are also part of a team, so you need to be able to work both alone and with others. You may sometimes need to liaise between the client and the customer, so a professional approach and good communication skills are important in this job.
Most garden maintenance operative jobs will ask you to have a driving licence and a PA1/PA6 spraying license is often required.
